It’s going to be cooling down soon, and the leaves have already started to fall; autumn is here in Hendricks County! One of the best parts about fall is all the seasonal activities that pop up. Whether you’re more of a cozy, sweater weather lover, a spooky thrill seeker, or somewhere in between, our area has something for you and your family. Here are our most favorite fall activities of 2025:

Indiana Fear Farm
Located between Jamestown and New Brunswick, Indiana Fear Farm features two main attractions; the Haunted Hayride and the Slaughter Barn. The hayride is great for families and kids of all ages; you might see characters you recognize as well as new frights! The Slaughter Barn is a more intense experience and is not recommended for those below 8 years old or with a medical condition, but it is one of the best haunted houses on this side of Indy. Check out their hours and prices!

Beasley’s Orchard
We all know it, we all love it; Beasley’s is a local staple. Since 1946, Beasley’s has grown from livestock and grain into fruit and vegetables, gradually offering more and more over time. They now offer multiple different festivals, a corn maze, hayrides, u-pick pumpkins, apple cannons, and more! We recommend stopping by on a weekend through November 2nd for the full experience, but activities are discounted on weekdays. See activities, festivals, and tickets here!

Hogan Farms
If you can’t get enough of pumpkins, hayrides, and corn mazes, Hogan Farms is for you! Kids 3 feet and under are free for the corn maze, hayrides, and other games, and Hogan Farms also offers a farmers market on certain weekends. You can also sometimes find food trucks here. This is a great option for a more affordable fall experience. See hours and prices!

Harvest Nights at Newfields
Harvest Nights at the old Indianapolis Museum of Art (now Newfields) is an experience worth heading downtown for. If you’ve been before, expect to see new sights (this year, there’s a new Fungi Forest), and if you haven’t been, you’re missing out! Set in the gardens around the museum (and in the old Lilly house), take a walk through a Halloween wonderland straight out of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is a great experience for families with kids of all ages (kids 5 and under are free), and you can easily push a stroller along the wide garden paths. Expect to spend about 90 minutes exploring all that they have to offer. Check it out!
